Welcome to Featherstone Records!
The Full Story
I started this business because being able to have access to one record being cut at a time is an amazing resource whether you are a smaller band, a DJ or if you just want to make something special that will last a long time! I began learning the craft of cutting records in 2023 after my career pivoted from touring musician into Audio Engineering. I traveled the world as an audio engineer before landing in a historical recording studio in Columbus Ohio known for its handmade gear and vinyl record pressing plant in the basement. I spent a year apprenticing and learning the skill of cutting records by hand onto lacquers on one of the worlds best and most important lathes in music history, a 1944 Scully. I fell in love with this process and began my journey of learning how to cut records on a DIY level. I've learned how to build the equipment, where to source the materials from, and I haven't looked back since. After cutting my own wedding guestbook to a 12 inch record I decided to expand my services to musicians AND folks looking for a special way to preserve their most important memories. My passion is cutting records for other local musicians and artists. Serving the wedding community to create handcrafted keepsakes on records supports keeping prices affordable for local artists. Thank you so much for your interest in my small business and community, your support makes a huge impact here!
